Franconia (Franken)
Franconia (Franken) is the northern part of the German state (Bundesland) of Bavaria. Franconia is part of Bavaria since 1803 (courtesy of Napoleon). This gallery focuses on the county (Regierungsbezirk) of Middle Franconia (Mittelfranken), the area that is centered around Nuremberg (Nürnberg).
